On December 17, 2024, President Joe Biden signed S.1478 into law, which names US Route 20, the longest road in the United States, as The National Medal of Honor Highway. Representatives from the states that US 20 passes through spearheaded the effort. From west to east, US 20 travels coast-to-coast through Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts.
